Season Preview – Balham Choke Hazard
- Updated: March 10, 2016
We’ll be running a season preview of each team, every other day, in the build up to the start of the 2016 season. Why not start alphabetically with the South London contenders:
Balham Choke Hazard
Balham Choke Hazard burst onto the Volfsball scene late last year. Bringing years of experience from the world of Ultimate Frisbee, they are tipped to have a strong season in 2016.
Interview with Captain Thom Saunders
Where do you think you will finish in the league this year, what are you hopes and dreams for your team?
Choke Hazard are a team who never settle for second best. Our goal is to use our superior fitness and mental strength to push ourselves and this sport to the limits, and leave the other teams broken and exhausted in our wake and the game forever changed.
If that doesn’t happen though we’ll just be glad to be involved and make new friends.
If you don’t win the league, who will and why?
Well, if attendance is still the key then the Supermoons have a real chance to make it two in a row, but do they have the strength and depth to take home the Larwood Invitational? Of course not.
What opposition player are you most wary of?
It’s got to be Gemma Whelan. Her phenomenal opening season saw her smashing records left and right and her superior range of movement leaves her opponents wheezing in disbelief at how she got the ball past them.
And she can ride a horse.
