Muswell Hill Supermoons 13 v 12 Crouch End Tigers
- Updated: April 26, 2016
Game 5
Muswell Hill Supermoons vs Crouch End Tigers
Supermoons
Larwood, Bannard, Hart
Tigers
Stronge, Nunnery, Hunt
In what looked to be the biggest miss-match of the day. The Tigers drafted in defensive supremo and 6’4’ giant James Hunt. The Moons were dwarfed in height facing the tallest line up to ever grace the Volfsball field.
1st Third
Point for point early doors, until Larwood gestured to the Volfsball prism in the style of baseball legend Babe Ruth. He pointed to the Prism ring and stated I am going to score a Volfsball and promptly did to put Moons up 6-1. At the end of the 1st third every player had scored at least one point a record for Volfsball.
2nd Third
Moons began struggling against the height of the Tigers, and found themselves forced to try for Volfsballs rather than single pointers, but the Tigers themselves were facing shooting problems, nonetheless they clawed their way back into the game and point by point. The third ended 6-6. The Moons failing to put a single point on the board, and visible tired Larwood and Hart wild with their shooting.
3rd Third.
Hunt, Nunnery and Stronge all scored in the final third, and with a minute left, the Tigers found themselves with a 10-8 lead. It looked all but won against the slumping Moons. However Larwood was on hand to strike again, and his second Volfsball of the game propelled the team in blue and white to a 13-10 lead. The Tigers struck twice more but the Moons prevailed 13-12. The Supermoons registered only 5 hits compared to 12 for the Tigers, but two of them were Volfsballs.
