Five Teams in Orgy of Volfsball
- Updated: October 5, 2015
Up to seven passers by stopped to watch, as the incredible sport of the 21st Century soared to new heights on Sunday with a record five teams appearing. As smoke from a nearby allotment billowed onto the sun soaked autumn fields there were Volfsballs aplenty to be seen.
Tom Bell’s Harringay Choppers arguably the champions of the day with two victories over bitter rivals Balham Choke Hazard. Dopplevolfsball legend Richard Morris brought new team Crouch End Tigers into the Volfsball fold with a victory over the slumping Muswell Hill Supermoons. And West Wirral Snakehips lost their unbeaten record with two valiant displays.
There were pitch invasions by dogs, swearing in front of children and rule controversies galore. Founder Marek said “the only disappointment was finding out how fat I’d got when I reviewed the footage.”
